Tomlin
Apostle Dr Carol Tomlin is
an Independent Educational
Consultant, with a long and
distinguished
academic
career, teaching in universities
both in the UK and USA. She is a
PhD external examiner for universities the
University of the West Indies and the UK.
She has taught English, Education Studies,
and lectured on an Erasmus funded programme in Nijemgen,
Holland. She has held significant roles in academia. These
include Admissions and Assessment Tutor at the University of
East London, and Education Studies Course Tutor at the
University of Wolverhampton, where she gained an award for
Excellence in Learning & Teaching (2005). She was a visiting
tutor at Queen's Theological Foundation and has several years
experience in pastoral ministry, as the Senior Pastor of
Restoration Fellowship Ministries. Dr Tomlin has also worked
as a Healthcare Chaplain.
As a published author, some of her key academic texts include
Black Language Style in Sacred and Secular Contexts (1999)
and her latest co-authored published works with Dr Paul
Mocombe: Language, Literacy and Pedagogy (2013) and Race
& Class Distinction in Black Communities (2014) Jesus and the
Streets: the Loci of Causality for the Intra-Racial Gender
Achievement Gap in Black Urban America and the United
Kingdom (2016). She also reviewed the 6th edition of the best
selling book Doing Your Research Project (2014) by Judith Bell
with Stephen Waters (McGraw-Hill Education & Open
University Publication).
Dr Tomlin is an academic, minister and motivational speaker
who, is often invited to present the keynote address at
community, church and educational events. Dr Tomlin believes
in the power of Jesus Christ to transform the life of every
individual.
