CYCLING THROUGH THE BEATING HEART OF THE HOGE KEMPEN
Your cycling route through Hoge Kempen National Park starts at the artfully crafted locomotives at As Station . It first heads through shady forests in the direction of Waterschei . The old mining site , now known as Thor Park , is a green area with an impressive industrial heritage . Through Genk it heads to Domain Kattevennen and along quiet forest paths towards Zutendaal . Further on , you are treated to panoramic views at ‘ Cycling through the Heathland ’. The purple-blooming heather adds to the splendour here in August and September .
