Shanita Rogers, a native of Fayetteville, NC has always eagerly put her hands to the plow. She is a wife and mother in a blended family of seven who is passionate about living life and believes in maximizing every God given potential. Although Shanita was surrounded by a loving and supportive family she battled depression, insecurities and suicidal thoughts during her youth and young adulthood. Little did she know the enemy was seeking to take her out in order to steal her dreams and kill her destiny. However, Shanita fought hard and grew closer to God in order to overcome fears of rejection and not being good enough.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Communication and minors in English and Journalism. During that time college mentors pushed Shanita as she started her career as a reporter for the University Times. She became the first columnist to solely feature Christian artists and Christian entertainment. From there Shanita went on to work briefly for WSOC Channel 9 in Charlotte, North Carolina. A short time later she worked for Adelphia News Channel 4 in Cartersville, Georgia where she was a crime, political, health and general news reporter. While there she also worked reporting weekend news for a local radio station. She has had the pleasure of interviewing Charlton Heston, Kim Wayans, Cynthia Cooper, Deleon Richards-Sheffield, Uneek, Vivica Fox, Miguel Nunez, Fred Hammond and more.
After achieving her goal of working as a broadcast journalist Shanita worked as a teacher in Christian education and as an education advisor for a major university. She eventually went on to earn a Master’s degree in Management. However, Shanita constantly battled with what she had a hunger for. She was constantly looking for avenues to encourage women as well as provide resources to improve their lives. In the winter of 2012 Shanita founded “First Lady” a group that seeks to help women to “Engage, Encourage, Enable, Edify and Exhale.” The group is expanding and meets two to three times a year to network and sharpen each other.
In 2013 returned to her roots as a writer and became a blogger for www.cwham (Christian Work at Home Moms). Things seemed to have taken off. Unfortunately, as she worked as an education advisor for nearly six years she found herself on the other side of the fence looking over. She received a call October of 2013 that gave her the news of a lay off. After she got over the initial ten seconds of her pride being shocked she thought “this is my time to do what I am supposed to do.” So Shanita went to work with what she knew best, public speaking, writing and encouraging. Today you will find Shanita blogging independently as well as motivating others. Shanita strongly believes that “You can either create the world you desire or you can cave in to the world around you. Take your pick.” It is with that same zeal that Shanita continues her journey as women’s Success Coach, business owner and author.
