In this documentary they narrate the current situation of the Earth, its climate and how we, as the dominant species, alter its future. One theme expressed throughout the documentary is that of linking, that is, how all organisms and Earth are connected together, in a "delicate but crucial" balance and how an organism cannot be self-sufficient.

Home explains the origins of the evolution of unicellular algae present in the cells of the edges of the volcanic springs. It explains the essential role of these algae in the evolution of photosynthesis, as well as the fact that an immense amount of plant species originate from this unicellular organism.

The documentary acquires a focus on human activities, shows the agricultural revolution and its repercussions, before going on to talk about the use of oil (leading to fires), industry, cities and inequality as never before. Cities like New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Jaipur and Dubai in particular, are an example to show mismanagement and waste of energy, water and food. The recession of glaciers and swamps is shown through huge aerial photographs of Antarctica, the North Pole and Africa, while massive emigration of refugees is anticipated in the face of an environmental catastrophe.

It is at this point that the documentary focuses on global warming and the carbon crisis. Home shows how melting glaciers, rising sea levels and changes in the climate are wreaking havoc on people who have less to do with this issue, but also how very soon areas will be affected densely populated.

Here, for about three minutes of film, alarming numbers are shown in white letters on a black background, followed by a video representing the facts. This is followed by a positive conclusion. The documentary not only shows the terrible truths about our impact on Earth, but also what we are doing now to fight against it
