Chili(‘ sili‘ in Filipino), although rarely used in cooking, has always been an enamoring ingredient used in sauces and dips, take for example the‘ suka-sili‘ sawsawan, which is perfect for eating salted food such as daing and tuyo.
It is with the inventiveness of millions food enthusiasts around the world that continuously gives birth to a multitude of recipes using the chili peppers.
Okay! Let’ s get it straight. This post is for the chililover( like me). Because it does involve the consumption of those little fiery fruits that are known to irritate the oral cavity as well as the digestive tract. LOL. I first discovered them when I was a kid. My Father used to work in a restaurant. Since then, dynamite rolls are always in our menus at home.
So tell me, who’ s up for a sizzle?
Ingredients: Green Finger pepper
( commonly known as Sili na pang sinigang) Quickmelt cheese strips Lumpia wrapper Ground Beef( optional)
Directions:
1. Cut the green chili into halves; remove the seeds since it may become too spicy if not removed.
2. Position the green chili with a strip of cheese in the middle of the wrapper. One chili per wrapper. No overloading. You can also try including ground beef or bacon strips to make it more flavorful and less spicy.
3. Tightly wrap the stuffed chili in a lumpia wrapper and set aside. Repeat with remaining chilies.
4. Fry in medium heat until the wrapper is golden brown or until you think it is already cooked, best served while still hot
Your Dynamite Rolls are ready to serve! I prefer to use ketchup-mayo or honey mustard for the dip but you can also use sour cream, cheese dip and salsa, whichever suits your taste.
You must try this. If you’ re too lazy to cook, try buying from the streets instead. Enjoy Eating!:)
