Service! #FTW, BCC 340
At Repair the World, we know that volunteering can be meaningful, fun, Jewish (in whatever way)
and can address real-life, systemic issues. But how? In this session, you’ll get into character as a
community stakeholder and plan a hypothetical community service program. The goal is simple:
to develop a well-rounded, ethical community service experience that accounts for the needs and
expectations of all the stakeholders in your group. The game, however, is challenging because not
everyone can win. And who wins and who loses will have real-life consequences on whether the
service can effectively address real issues.

The Naked Roommate and Everything Else You Need to Know About Life in College,
Holiday Ballroom 6
College is supposed to be the very best time of your life, but millions of students struggle. Here
are the facts: 66% of first year students admit feeling homesick, 32% of college students are so
depressed it’s difficult for them to function and roughly 25% of students transfer to another school.
I’ve helped millions of students do college right and want to help you. My first year in college was
nothing like I expected: my roommate moved out, I didn’t get into a fraternity and my high school
girlfriend dumped me. No one told me about transition, which begins after the college search
and selection ends. It’s intense, emotional, social, emotional, physical, financial and academic. In
this session, I’ll take the best from my New York Times bestselling book on college life, The Naked
Roommate: And 107 Other Issues You Might Run Into in College, and help you create the best
college experience for you.
