Let’s Talk About “IT”, BCC 349
Are you the type of student who believes you can make the world a better place? When you see
injustice do you want to address it? When my best friend was sexually assaulted, we decided to try
and fix the system. To talk about “IT”! Over 450 campuses, several trips to the White House and over
1,000,000 students later, we’re still talking. You will learn how to transform a community using our
three step model and how you can help reduce sexual violence and create social justice. We will
focus on communication, bystander behaviors and supporting survivors. You are the solution! You
will laugh, be inspired and will know how to leave your chapter better than you found “IT”!

Living Out Our Values: LGBTQ Inclusion in AZA and BBG, Johnson B d
BBYO recently recommitted to being an inclusive space, specifically in terms of welcoming
transgender and gender non-conforming/gender-expansive people. However, for many people, the
AZA and BBG system, which is built along the gender binary, presents challenges to that goal. Some
people identify as non-binary (neither male nor female), and some folks are simply uncomfortable
with the idea of single-gender systems. Using real examples from AZA, BBG and BBYO chapters
and regions from around the world and drawing inspiration from Jewish texts, we’ll explore possible
approaches to overcome obstacles while remaining true to the ideals of the Order.
Facilitators: Robbie Medwed, Education Director, SOJOURN; Justin Rosen Smolen, National Director
of Youth Programs; Keshet
This session runs through Limmud Round 2 and Limmud Round 3.
