energy & broadband suppliers
Below are the major electricity and gas suppliers in Birmingham:

Usually, electricity & gas will take an approximate amount of GBP 30-50 monthly. Your bills will reach its peak during winter season as the electric heater / house heater will take up a lot!
2. Water
Water is supplied by a national provider called Severn Trent Water. On rare occasions, your water supplier will be under Waterplus if your accommodation is put as a commercial address. The usual approximate amount will be GBP5-8 monthly per person. However, you will only need to pay your water every 6 months with a total of GBP15-30 per person.
Bills are dependent on how many housemates you have and how much you use them.
There are companies such as "Split the Bills" that can sort all your bills for you as long as your housemates are in for it as well!
Remember to never pay the previous tenants' & also keep track of your meter readings!
2. Broadband
There are several broadband companies in Birmingham. One student-friendly broadband company is the Virgin Media for those with fibre optic. They offer a specific student contract with them. Student offer is GBP39 monthly and you can split the cost with your housemates!
For those with copper connection, an option for you to go is the SKY.
Do not forget to pack the Wifi Router back when your contract ends and send it to the company to avoid a penalty fee.
