ROUND ELEVEN PREVIEWS Grew. McGrew scored 41 points and collected 17 rebounds playing the entire game in a performance that saw him awarded QBL Player of the Week honours. The Phoe- nix had a strong 30-point win over Toowoomba in Round 10 restricting the Mountaineers to just 62 points. Matt Donaldson top scored with 20 and was backed up by Breland Ho- gan (18) and Matthew Kenyon (17). Kenyon also chipped in with 11 re- bounds in the big win. The Phoenix will need to back this performance up against the Pirates if they are to play finals this season. The Pirates will be hurting after last week, look for them to bounce back with a big win at home. IPSWICH FORCE VS GLADSTONE PORT CITY POWER Ipswich ran into a brilliant Cap- itals team last Friday night and despite some strong scoring con- tributions were ultimately beaten by 22 points, making it their eighth straight loss. Captain James Legan again led the way for the Force with 22 points including 18 from down- town. Kyle Harvey scored 21 whilst Jason Ralph led the team with 7 assists. This will be Gladstone’s second game of a triple-header in the southeast and they will hope to turn around a disappointing sea- son. Raymond Willis has been the standout scorer for Gladstone av- eraging over 24 points per game and leading the team with 4 assists per game. It may only be 11th vs 13th on the ladder but pride will be put on the line in this match-up. Ipswich will be desperate to snap an eight-game losing streak and at home should be able to get it done over a tired Gladstone team. SOUTH WEST METRO PIRATES VS BRISBANE CAPITALS This match-up between the Pi- rates and the Capitals will be a bat- tle of the fittest as both teams play their second game of the weekend. The Capitals have averaged over 94 points per game this season whilst only giving up 78. The Pirates have been averaging 85 points in offense and over 89 in defence for 2017. Brisbane have been led by their American duo Anderson and On- was who average 22 and 19 points respectively, whilst Dusty Rychart continues to grab the boards av- eraging almost 11 per game. With- out Daniel Kickert the Pirates have been 0-5 this season and if they can’t contain Anderson and Onwas on Sunday, that statistic will contin- ue. Capitals too strong. LOGAN THUNDER VS GLADSTONE PORT CITY POWER The Thunder will be looking for another strong performance from their offense when they take on the Port City Power at home on Sunday afternoon. Logan current- ly sit eighth and two wins from this weekend will put them in a good position going into the finals. Glad- stone have been averaging just 72 points per game – the lowest in the league. Raymond Willis needs more support on the floor and if Logan shut him down on Sunday it could end up a big deficit for the Power. BRISBANE SPARTANS VS TOWNSVILLE HEAT The Brisbane Spartans sit in sev- enth position on the ladder and have won three of their last four games. Their three-game winning streak was broken last Friday night going down to the USC Rip at home in a thriller which included 17 lead changes. The McDowell-White brothers have been great additions for the Spartans and William led the team with 19 points and 8 rebounds against the Rip. The Spartans tack- le a Townsville Heat team backing up from the previous night against the Capitals. It should be an easi- er prospect for the Heat going into Sunday’s game against the low- er ranked Spartans but if Wilcher and Baker don’t fire expect the Spartans to put the hammer down. Townsville should have enough to get the win and stay above Cairns in fourth position on the ladder. Get out there and perform accelerationesp.com THE WRAP 2017 Official Game Program 13
