CAPITALS SBL WOMEN
BYE WEEK
SBL MEN

Head Coach
CAPS V NORTHSIDE
This week we played
Northside Wizards 2 at home
on an early Sunday morning.
The game started as we
expected with the adjust-
ments we made through the
week giving confidence to our
playing group. We got out to
an early lead and controlled
the tempo of the game. Josh
Leaney started on fire land-
ing our first six points, While
Lachlan Venus had a big im-
pact on the defensive end.
We headed into the first break
up 22 – 17.
The start of the second
quarter was spear headed by
Xavier Cooke as we continued
where we left off in the First
quarter. We went on an early
11 – 0 run to push out the lead
LAST WEEK'S WRAP UP
33-17 on the back of some
great end to end basketball
with our defensive pushing
proving to much for the Wiz-
ards. We continued to control
the tempo as we headed in to
the main break up 53 – 31.
The 3rd quarter we started
out a little flat but continued
to control the game with our
tempo. The boys cohesion on
defence started to fracture a
little as we allowed Northside
to run and put points on the
board to close the gap. We
went into the final break up
67 – 54.
The 4th was the same as
the 3rd as our defence didn’t
improve. We went through
a large part of the quarter
where we got outside our
system and struggled to keep
the score ticking over. We al-
lowed Northside to run as we
started to force our offence.
Matt Booysen lead the team
by taking control to steady the
ship as we got in to our exe-
cution and managed to close
out the game late to gain a 13
point win.
This week we are on the
road as we take on the inform
South West Metro Pirates on
Sunday at the Hibiscus Cen-
tre.

Our team roster took anoth-
er change this week with our
inspirational team leader Amy
Lewis taking an unplanned
rest.
What a game it was and
worth every cent of the admis-
sion fee. Lots of mixed emo-
tion from both teams which
makes players, spectators
both love and hate the game.
Freeburn, Lloyd, and Aldred
lit up on the score board sup-
ported by Butts pulling in a
massive 15 rebounds. Wool-
