Beautiful Borders
Beautiful Borders
Willow Moments and Memories
Designer: Jan O’ Brien Company: @ theflowermummysgarden
This garden is inspired by Willow, a charity providing special days for seriously ill young adults aged 16-40. As a beneficiary, I’ ve drawn from my own experience, creating a river of memories with everlasting flowers leading to a tranquil spot by the willow tree. Each plant symbolises emotions felt by beneficiaries – hope, gratitude, calm. Stepping stones mark the journey of hope, reminding us that connections are built on shared experiences. Founded by Bob Wilson OBE, Willow continues to uplift lives.
A British Rainforest
Designer: Chris North
Temperate rainforests are vital habitats found in mild, wet climates; rich in biodiversity yet rarer than tropical rainforests. Western Britain still holds some remnants, but they face threats from deforestation and overgrazing. This border represents a regenerating rainforest, underplanted with native British flora, to highlight the need for protection. It also draws garden inspiration from the sculptural beauty of deadwood and the lush textures of moss, reminding us of the delicate balance within these magical woodlands.

Cultivating Connections- Connecting with Myself
Designer: Stuart Gibbs
Inspired by Simon Higgins’ Head Full of Dreams, my centrepiece symbolises living your dreams as a way to connect with yourself and support mental health. Over the past year, I stepped out of my comfort zone, completing RHS Level 2 courses and exploring garden design. This led me to use blue as a calming base, experimenting with form, height, texture, and tonal variations to create depth. Blue fosters tranquillity and clarity, providing space to reconnect with oneself and live those dreams.
Small But Mighty
Designer: Zoe Grady
Even the smallest space can shape the future. My garden is a place to watch, listen, and breathe, grounding tools that keep me present. There is nothing like tasting homegrown tomatoes or the scent of Salvia brushed by the dog. These simple moments bring life into focus. Sit in your tiny space and share it with nature, as it needs that connection just as much as we do.
