Inspired by medieval physics gardens where plants were cultivated by apothecaries for medicinal use , this Beautiful Border updates the concept for the 21st century . The design follows the geometric structure favoured by Medieval gardeners but has a wilder , softer planting scheme to encourage pollinators and seed saving . This design showcases plants at different stages of growth and how they benefit wild and human life . The structure allows gardeners to access every part of the border with ease and a small water feature offers a crucial haven for birds , amphibians and insects .

The variety of colours and textures enervates your sense of sight , the fragrant flowers and herbs arouses your sense of smell and the sounds of wildlife encouraged by the wildflower ’ s stimulates your sense of hearing . So , it ’ s accessible to all !
