Spring is in full swing at Newport Beach Country Club and May is blooming with an exciting spectrum of events to fill your social calendar . We begin with the final cotillion session of the season on May 3 , followed by Date Night on May 6 . Fresh flowers and chilled bubbly plus an array of healthy and decadent culinary delights are all part of our sumptuous Mother ’ s Day brunch on May 8 . Please contact the Seahorse Grille for current availability .
Are you “ Living on a Prayer ”? Well , “ Don ’ t Stop Believin ’” because we are “ Born to be Wild ” so “ Let ’ s Dance !” Join us at the club for Dueling Pianos on May 18 and prepare to sing your hearts out and dance the night away . Reservations are available online .
DEAN & DEBI CAMPBELL The Campbells live in the flower streets of Corona del Mar . Debi is retired from an advertising career . She is involved with bible study groups and activities at Mariners Church . She is also a master gardener and a contributor to the CDM Village Living magazine . She is an active member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization ( PEO ), a nonprofit that is committed to helping women pursue higher education . Dean is semi-retired from the tech industry , retaining only the chairmanship of a software company while also being involved in LINKS and Men of Mariners bible study groups .
THE MANSER FAMILY David is the president and chief lending officer of the BLC Companies , which is a private real estate fund based out of Irvine . Stephanie is a former pharmaceutical and medical equipment sales representative , but is currently a stay-at-home mom taking care of the three Manser girls : Hannah , Molly and Lilah . The Mansers currently live on Balboa Island and the girls attend Seashore Academy . Both David and Stephanie enjoy playing golf and the entire family actively participates in the kid ’ s club known as the Balboa Island Yacht Club ( BIYC ).
SUSAN VOLAS Originally from Michigan , Susan moved to Newport Beach in 2007 and has been a resident ever since . She graduated with both a bachelor ’ s and a master ’ s degree from the University of Michigan . She taught algebra and science at the junior high level in the inner city of Detroit for 15 years . Then , she taught algebra in Orange County for eight years with the Saddleback Valley Unified School District in Mission Viejo . Now retired , Susan loves spending time with her two sons , Brad and Brandon , her daughter-in-law Chanda and her grandson Beau . She enjoys family vacations , traveling with friends , sailing , skiing , golfing and Duffy boat rides in the bay .
And , finally , we finish the month with Movie Night on May 27 and a festive Memorial Day barbecue on May 30 . See you there !
MIKE DONNELLY Mike recently retired from The Kroger Co . and is enjoying his new home on Lido Isle . He has two amazing kids , Jennifer and Joshua , who both live on the East Coast , so travel is a regular part of life . In his free time , Mike enjoys staying active outdoors and golfing with family and friends .
GARY ADAMS Gary is the owner of several industrial properties around Orange County . He is an avid tennis player and loves to travel with his family . He currently lives in Corona del Mar .
THE FLESHER FAMILY Greg is the president and CEO of an Irvinebased pharmaceutical company developing drugs for rare diseases . Mei-Chi is a doctor of Chinese medicine , but is currently taking a break from practicing to be a full-time mother for their 7-year-old daughter Mia , who attends first grade at Harbor Day School . The Flesher family lives in Corona del Mar .
