Batin Photography - Puerto Vallarta Volume 1 - Puerto Vallarta Garden Club | Page 6

Message from the Photographer and Publisher Fernando Batin This is one of the bigger projects I have taken on and it encompassed many tasks. There is a misconception that once the photograph is taken that is the end of it. This is not the case in event photography or any type of professional photography, especially with a large event such as the Bugambilia Festival. I was told that the tickets for the event hit the 300 mark , and that there was a waiting list because it was one of those “sought” after events. From a photographers standpoint there were many challenges that I experienced which included lighting conditions, technical aspects, location, and most especially the sun’s placement and what time of day it was. As everyone knows, time stops for no one, so I had to work with the elements at hand. At the event at Casa Chickie, my assistant and I took over 1,200 photos combined. What has been made available online for your viewing is approximately 250 which represents just 21% of the photos taken. This is Batin Photography typical for this type of event. Not all photos make it past the QA phase. I enjoyed doing the event, and hope to continue my work in Puerto Vallarta. labor intensive and tasking. but as I sat down to work on this project, there were many decisions to make such as which photo to pick while considering clarity, lighting, etc. and Althought my speciality is event and food photography, I also enjoy on-location photography where we go to the location and photograph. I typically don’t stop there. I then turn that photo session into a creative place them in a somewhat logical manner. Since this event was based on the bouganbilia of Puerto Vallarta, I walk down Olas Altas and Basilio Badillo to see the work that has since been angles as I walked trying to capture the beauty and vibrancy of the beauty of the area. While doing the scenic route on Basilio Badillo, two young little girls and asked me something in spanish and hand signaled me to take a photo of them, and so I did. I thought I would give them their I enjoy when my clients are happy with my work. As sometimes, the anticipation of unexpected is good. You don’t know what is “brewing” in my mind, until It develops. I have always enjoy when my clients are having a good time, so that I am able to “capture the moment”. It’s those unexpected reactions, locations, and unpredictable outcomes that makes a photo most memorable. -Nando www.FotosByNando.com www.BatinPhotography.com
