It is certainly time to hear from our Bass Sisters
themselves, and we can all gain insight into the world
of music from their perspective; perhaps walk a mile in
their shoes so to speak. It is time to grasp the reality of
their musical journey, understand the challenges they
face, and offer the support and camaraderie they well
deserve.

these women and accuse them of being ‘Models’ and
not musicians. Sometimes the hardest critics are other
women. Often, there are demands of, “Play something
so I can believe you,” a burden of proof that no one
places on males, and a plethora of marriage proposals.
Could we seem any more dysfunctional? Since these
guys are ‘my people’, I know it comes from a place of
admiration, as any woman who plays bass must be the
perfect mate!
