Seven years... Just take a moment and think about that.
We have actually been at this for that span of time,
and we are not only going strong but we have evolved
significantly since we launched our first issue, and we
love every minute of it!
Of course, we would not be here without the continued
support of our amazing worldwide contributors, our
VIP members and our ever-growing readership! Thank
you all for your encouragement and contributions to
this magazine designed, developed and dedicated to
us, the bass musicians.
To commemorate this special event, we have chosen
to dedicate this seventh anniversary issue to female
bassists.
In the past, female bass players were often the overlooked
minority amongst our ranks. However, today there are
some serious players out there, and this issue just
begins to skim the surface of the talent these women
bring to the craft.
I never thought about how challenging it might be
to try and ‘break’ into a male dominated field, until I
read the stream of comments that arise every time we
post a photo of a female bassist on our social media.
