2019 TBF junior world champs receive police escorT upon reTurn home

celebrated the arrival home of huntley
dees and Triton Graham, the winners
of the 2019 The Bass Federation junior
world championship.
“we worked so hard for the last
two years to get to this moment, and it
finally happened,” said Graham, while
fighting back tears during a television
interview at the ceremony. “we’re so
proud to be here. i’m amazed and sur-
prised to see all of them come out,
and thanks for all the support.”
north little rock hosted the annual
youth event for anglers ages 15 and
under on the arkansas river. junior
anglers competed at the state level to
advance to the national contest for a
chance at the titles, scholarships,
prizes and the opportunity to walk
across the stage at the Flw cup.
dees and Graham formulated a
plan in practice that considered the
forecasted rain and targeted backwa-
ter eddies with an early morning top-
water pattern and a midday switch to
shaky heads.

The final-day launch was delayed
due to weather, and the team fought
through fluctuating water levels, current
and downpours that caused them to
take shelter for more than 45 minutes.
a final keeper with just 15 minutes to
spare was the winning fish as Graham
and dees finished with 30 pounds, 5
ounces and only 1 pound, 6 ounces
separating them from second place.
