I had to lift my tip a little more to narrowly dodge the veg and gunk on the bottom. About half way through my retrieve I got hit by a solid fish! Instant relief and exhilaration set in, after a decent fight I landed a 1.41kg fish! YAY! Cherry is popped, now we can fish! After another 2 casts BAM! Hooked into another fish and landed a 1.36kg keeper, I kissed my rat-l-trap and rejoiced. We proceeded to weigh in and released them safely back to fight another day. Heading out again the sun was brutal and the trap bite died down really quickly. My wife tied on some venom slammers and damiki leeches with a chart garlic dip and they produced many fish. I opted for a salty sling and landed a few keepers to boot around the 1kg mark and below. As we hit midday the wild west feeling set in with the sun cooking us in our skins we traversed to the deeper structure and reeds on the inlet of the dam. I pitched my arm dead and could not get a bite with any combination jig or creature I could tie on. As we hit the final leg we both tied on flukes and flipping them right into the reeds and structure produced more fish with a nice kicker for my wife just before the comp ended.
