spinnerbait crusher

Unlucky for most, I decided to fish Inanda on Friday the 13th. I arrived at 6am sharp, but spent 20min in the car with the heater on. It was extremely cold and the wind wasn’t making it any better. By 6:30am I plucked up the courage to get my kickboat together.

I initially forget my spinnerbaits in the car and luckily I went back to collect them. Forcing myself to fish them and after a few casts I hooked into something. At first it didn’t feel big, that was before it realised it was hooked up. All hell broke loose as it tried to wrap me up in some weed from the bank, but I managed to get it out of the thickness. After a couple of minutes of fighting it got closer to me and a mouth the size of a dinner plate came towards me. I quickly stuck my hand in it’s mouth and held on for dear life!

I quickly made my way to the bank where some Inanda staff helped to take some some pics and weigh the fish. She was safely released to fight another day even after a few screams of “haau baas, we want to keep it…”

This beauty weighed in at 4,3kg’s on the dot and I was super happy with my catch.
