Page 1\r\n\r\nNovember 2013 Report\r\nVenue: Rust De Winter Dam\r\nDate: 9 - 10 November 2013\r\nWINNERS WORDS by Kobus Oosthuizen\r\nTotal fish: 8\r\nTotal Weight: 6.08 Kg\r\nAverage weight: 0.76 Kg\r\n\r\nSeasonal Pattern:\r\nWe were greeted by VERY HOT weather conditions.\r\nThe fish was in post spawn! The wind was pumping\r\nfor most of the days.\r\n\r\nFishing Conditions:\r\nWe arrived on the Friday afternoon, we were met\r\nwith very hot conditions. The water level is down to\r\n87%, water temperatures ranged from 75-82°F. The\r\nwater clarity ranged from crystal clear at the dam\r\nwall, stained in the salad bowl to muddy in the river\r\nsection.\r\nWe managed to get on the water at about 15:00.\r\nWe headed for the river section. After a couple of\r\nminutes we managed our first couple of fish, fishing\r\nvery shallow water (skinny water if your name is\r\nShagger) with Black Horny Toads.\r\nWe moved out of the river to the point of the salad\r\nbowl, were we found a massive gillnet with about 60\r\nKurper and some yellow fish in it. We spend the rest\r\nof the afternoon cutting out the Kurper, which was\r\nluckily still alive. The netting situation is becoming\r\na big problem in most of our dams.\r\nSaterday morning saw us all racing to our spots.\r\nWe decided to head back to the river section. After\r\nspending an hour there with nothing to show, we\r\ndecided it was time to move to the salad bowl. We\r\nfound some fish in the 8ft range fishing the edges of\r\nthe weed patches with weightless senko’s. At about\r\n07:00 the wind started to pump for most of the day.\r\nBy 11:00 I had my 5 fish limit, but Hendri was still\r\nshort with only 4 fish in the box. We decided that we\r\nwould get off the water at 13:00 for a break from the\r\nhot weather. Everybody was soon sitting under the\r\ntrees enjoying the shade. Everyone except Captain\r\nH, he was still looking for fish to fill his bag.\r\nBack to the Top\r\n\r\nclear water bass master reportback and results\r\n\r\n
