GAME NIGHT ADVENTURES AN OPEN CONCEPT BASEMENT OFFERS THE PERFECT PLACE TO GATHER ON GAME NIGHT. This bold basement space is located in the home of a family of four who are all major sports fans. They love to entertain and often host large gatherings on game day. We wanted to create a space that could accommodate a large group while ensuring that whether you cared about watching the game or not, you'd be part of the social gathering. To accomplish this, the design was planned to place the theatre, which is normally a separate room, in an open concept space together with the bar and game room areas. The large projection TV screen is positioned so that it is visible from all areas. The clients love traditional design but didn't want the basement to feel old-school or outdated so the design scheme combines classic, timeless details with modern accents for a contemporary edge. The plumbing fixtures, door and cabinet hardware are very modern which you wouldn’t often see in a traditional interior. The ceiling, one of the amazing details in this space, features trim in a very classic shape but with unexpected twists like square edge reveal details and contrasting color tones. The wall panels are also created using mouldings. Aside from painting, adding moldings is one of the least expensive ways to dress up a space.
