2 Barnardo’s Today
As we enter the final months of 2016 we look
back at some of the events and activities
that have made Barnardo’s 150th year so
memorable. From a special Garden Party
at Buckingham Palace hosted by our
President, the Duchess of Cornwall, to some
fantastic fundraising events right across the
country, this has been a year to highlight
the amazing work that Barnardo’s has done
and continues to do.
But while recognising current and past
successes is one thing, ensuring that
Barnardo’s remains relevant and meets
the future needs of our most vulnerable
children and young people requires careful
planning. That’s why we recently launched
a new 10-year strategy to meet these
challenges and make families stronger,
childhoods safer and to give more young
people positive futures.
The strategy includes ambitious plans to
increase our income to allow us to support
more than 300,000 children, young people,
parents and carers per year by 2025 – that’s
25 per cent more than in 2015.
Thank you for all you do to support our
work. It really does change lives.
