Linlay Pierre
Pierre Noodles
Born 50 years ago in Trou Aux Biches, Linlay grew up just like any other Mauritian boy:
swimming in the ocean and fishing with his friends.
“I had only one passion, soccer. My dream was to be a professional soccer player and go
abroad. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I sustained a terrible injury while on training for
my national team debut in Kampala, Uganda. I was never to play again.”
But life had to go on. “I worked for a handicraft shop in Caudan Waterfront in Port Louis.
I started from the bottom as a security guard and rose up to become a salesperson. I stayed
there for 17 years until the shop closed.’’
