HEALTH minds have to override the behavior our bodies are accustomed. After an average of 21 days, our bodies learn a new way of life and our cells have rebooted to this new way. Have you noticed how difficult it is to stop eating junk food after you’ve had a bad week? You know you want to drop the habit, but something inside you just wants nothing more than a chunk of chocolate cake or an oily KFC bucket. This is partly due to the addictive and highly toxic MSG chemical in most fast foods, and partly because your body has learned a way of eating which’s hard to think away simply. One more thing. Endorphins are naturally occurring opioids with rewarding pathways like heroin. These hormones are released in copious amounts whenever you exercise. Smaller amounts are released when you eat a piece of dark chocolate or have a good laugh. Once your body gets hooked on something such as exercise (yes 21 days!), your life will feel incomplete without it, and you’re well on your way to a happier, healthier, fitter you! Mark 21 days from today on the calendar and create your simple goal!
