Gcinekile Zwane A loud noise sounded in the room as if it was a bomb attack. “What could it be?” Nolwazi asked herself with her eyes shooting open and her heart pounding. She had jumped out of her chair, and her face landed on the wardrobe door. She looked around the room. A smile dawned on her face when she noticed her humongous Economics book on the floor. The sun bathed her skin as she knelt down to pick it up. Suddenly, she realized something was not right. Silence. The room was too quiet. Where was Zama? Her bed was already made. The moment her eyes got sight of the wall clock, she was shocked. 08:57 AM. She had exactly three minutes before her class started. Hastily, she made her way to the bathroom. She grabbed her toothbrush and hurriedly brushed her teeth. From the wardrobe, she took out some of her clothes and cast them on her bed. Then she changed into her wrinkled blouse and jeans. She snatched her bag from the floor and dashed out of the room like a mad dog. Perspiration all over her face, she opened the classroom door. Her heart almost stopped beating when she saw the school’s dean, Ms Gule, standing in front of the students.
