The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia’s national weather,
climate and water agency. Its expertise and services assist
Australians in dealing with the harsh realities of their natural
environment, including drought, floods, fires, storms, tsunami
and tropical cyclones. Transformation to meet user needs as
Australia’s population shifts geographically and as technology
and economic activities change, has been a regular feature of
the post-war years, and continues to this day. This talk presented
a strategic vision for the Bureau’s services to Australia in the
coming years.
