For Phiko, the goal was to secure his second consecutive Comrades finish and complete a well-deserved back-toback. When he came through Hillcrest, he looked calm, relaxed, and in complete control, chatting away as though he had just finished a leisurely 5km parkrun rather than tackling one of the toughest ultramarathons in the world.
Drawing on the experience gained from his first Comrades, Phiko ran a smart and determined race, arriving at Scottsville Racecourse in 10:36:47 to proudly claim his back-to-back finish. His performance showcased not only his fitness but also the resilience and perseverance required to succeed at Comrades.
We are incredibly proud of both Lloyd and Phiko. Their achievements are a testament to the power of commitment, consistency, and believing in a goal big enough to inspire months of hard work. We look forward to following their running journeys and seeing what challenges they take on next.
