RESERVOIR HILL
Rawlings Conservatory & Botanic Gardens is just one of the architectural jewels situated in Druid Hill Park. Opened in 1888, this greenhouse is the secondoldest public iron-and-glass framed conservatory still in use in the United States. The park itself is also home to the Mansion House, an 1801 Victorian that’ s seen many
uses over the years, including a nearly 30-year stint as a bird house for the Maryland Zoo. Nearby, Moorish Tower, built in 1870, is a well-known Baltimore landmark familiar to all who pass it on the Jones Falls Expressway. Take a stroll through the park and stand at the marble tower’ s base to admire the sweeping views of the city.

Baltimore is home to a wide array of historic theaters, including The Charles Theatre, the oldest movie theater in Baltimore. Our recommendation: See a film in the 1892 Beaux-Arts streetcar garageturned-picture house, then grab a bite next door at Tapas Teatro followed by a drink at the iconic Club Charles. Just a block away is The SNF Parkway Theatre. Built in 1915, the Italian Renaissance theater was diligently restored and reopened in 2017. While it’ s home to the Maryland Film Festival, it also screens independent, arthouse and classic movies for Baltimore’ s cinephiles throughout the year.
