Start with a filling breakfast at local fave Miss Shirley ’ s , then head to the National Aquarium , where 20,000 sea animals swim and play . This award-winning attraction is one of the city ’ s most popular — must-see exhibits include the 225,000-gallon Shark Alley , the northern Australian river gorge habitat , the dolphin amphitheater and the underwater viewing room . Once you ’ ve gotten your fill of aquatic animals , stop by the Top of the World Observation Level inside the World Trade Center , where you can get unparalleled views of the harbor and the cityscape from the world ’ s tallest pentagonal building .

Continue strolling the scenic waterfront promenade , where you can check out the historic ships docked along the edges , including the USS Constellation , built in 1854 by the U . S .
