SUNDAY
Spend your morning on a guided kayak tour led by Waterfront Partnership , which typically departs from the Maryland Science Center on Sundays between 9 a . m . and 1 p . m . from April to October ( advance reservations required ). Looking for something that requires a little less effort ? You can head to Pier 1 and take a ride on a Chessie dragon paddle boat , or take the Baltimore Water Taxi for a scenic connection between waterfront neighborhoods like Harbor East , Fell ’ s Point and Canton .
Next , check out the historic waterside neighborhood of Federal Hill , where you can take in the charm of old row houses , Belgian block streets and cozy shops and restaurants . Stop to rest at Rash Field Park , which reopened recently after a nearly $ 17 million renovation . It offers everything from a kid-friendly playground featuring two 30-foot-high wooden towers to a new skate park . If you just want to admire the waterfront , find a seat on one of the park ’ s porch swings , hang out under the stunning glass pavilion or head to the green roof , with curved pathways and fabulous views .
While you ’ re in the Federal Hill area , cap things off with a dinner at Rusty Scupper , which offers three levels of waterfront views alongside the seafood menu . Or try the Cuban-inspired Little Havana where you can get a mojito paired with a Cubano sandwich and sit outside on the waterfront patio for a perfect end to your weekend . VB
