Where have you performed (around the world)? I have performed across Europe, America and The Caribbean. Some immediate examples are London, France, Virginia, Atlanta, New York, St. Vincent, Jamaica, to name a few. Where are you based? I am based between London and Barbados. My bookings are seasonal and depend on where the majority of my work is at any given time. What is the response like to your performances? The first response is, ‘How does a person so tiny have such a big voice!’ People always comment on the high energy that comes from the stage. Once someone described it as RAGING ENERGY! What was the largest crowd you performed in front of? The Nottingham Caribbean Carnival in Nottingham, UK, The O2 Islington, UK, The O2 Shepherd’s Bush, UK and Reggae on the Hill (Barbados) are some of the biggest crowds I’ve performed for thus far. The biggest being 15,000+ people. How is it performing outside of Barbados and how does it compare to performing in Barbados? In my opinion, there is no difference, geographically; every crowd wants to be entertained at the highest level. I’ve performed in a range of settings from intimate affairs to huge arenas, enough to know that the mood of the audience inspires the performance. It’s best to have some knowledge about the nature of the event and the demographic, so that you can tailor your act to ensure a great performance. A younger crowd generally craves a wildly, energetic set and an older crowd tends to appreciate a quieter set; that is dependent on musical style. I’ve had trouble in the beginning of my career trying to find the natural energy wherever I was performing so I currently make an effort to go into the crowd and talk to the audience before any performance; this helps me determine the mood at the event so that I can deliver the best performance that I can.
