pudding, not a cake, but something somewhere
in between. Pones are usually made from root
vegetables. You can also make them with
carrots, sweet potatoes and
pumpkin. In
Barbados the traditional pone is the Cassava
Pone and is enjoyed by the young and old alike.
The Arawaks, Barbados' earliest known
settlers, were the first to introduce cassava to
the island and ever since that time, the
possibilities have been endless with regards to
its usage.
