Junior Pro-Am Another Big Day for Golf in Mississippi
One of the biggest days for golf in the state
of Mississippi, the BankPlus Junior Pro-Am
at the Sanderson Farms Championship didn’t
disappoint in 2018. The MGA notes this is a
great opportunity for a select amount of juniors
to gain the experience of playing alongside
a pro golfer, a day they may remember for a
lifetime.
The team that finished in first place
consisted of Tate Dickerson, Spence Davis,
Noah Harkins, Katelynn Altese, and the Pro
they played with was Hayden Buckley. Buckley
is also a past MJGA member and made his first
professional appearance on the PGA Tour at
the Sanderson Farms Championship.
The team won by one stroke with a score of
10 under of par. Second place finishers were
Reeves Johnson, Carson Butler, Madeleine Yu,
William Marshall, and the Pro they played with
was Norman Xiong. They finished with a score
of 9 under par.
The team that finished third also shot 9
under par. Jake Kight, Will Burnham, Icie
Cockerham, Harper Hinckley, and their Pro
was Maverick McNeeley.
The MGA stated this was another successful
event and the organization as a whole was proud
to have this opportunity for the junior golfers.
The MGA thanked Steve Jent, Sanderson
Farms Executive Director, Joe Sanderson, and
its title sponsor, BankPlus, for their efforts in
making the event a successful one.
