toddler readiness, building confidence, independence and the social skills needed for transition into nursery school.” It’ s also the sense of community that truly defines the experience.“ Over time, the groups become more than just classes,” she says.“ Parents share milestones, support one another and build friendships that last for years.”

Each session strikes a careful balance between learning and play, structure and spontaneity.“ The programme blends structured learning with play, allowing children to explore, experiment and experience new activities in a way that feels natural and enjoyable,” Leila says.“ At the same time, parents are guided through each stage and equipped with practical tools to support their child’ s development at home.”

It’ s this combination of development and connection that has had the most profound impact.“ It is especially meaningful to see parents returning to the Mommy and Me programme with their second, third, or even fourth child,” she reflects.“ This reflects the trust they place in the programme and the impact it had on their family the first time.” Seeing parents grow in confidence and ease, and watching children develop into curious little individuals is heartwarming, she adds.“ Parents leave feeling equipped and empowered to walk the educational journey alongside their children and support their development throughout.”

Little Notes Music Academy in the Vaal Triangle
Founded by Corene Kotze, Little Notes Music Academy in the Vaal Triangle brings the globally recognised Kindermusik programme to local families.“ My inspiration for bringing the Kindermusik programme to the Vaal Triangle came from a deep passion for music from a young age, seeing the need for an accredited music and movement programme in the Vaal and a desire to offer families something truly meaningful during the formative years of a child’ s life,” says Corene.“ Many parents are looking for activities that go beyond simple entertainment and genuinely support their child’ s growth.”
That gap is exactly what she set out to fill.“ I saw a need in our community for a structured, research-based programme that nurtures children holistically, developing not only musical skills, but also language, coordination, listening ability, social confidence and cognitive development.”
At Little Notes Music Academy, every class is intentionally designed to meet children where they are. From gentle baby sessions to more structured preschool experiences, the programme grows alongside each child. Baby classes focus on bonding, sensory development and early communication, while toddler sessions introduce interactive music and movement to build coordination, language and social skills. Preschool classes take things a step further, encouraging creativity, rhythm, listening skills and early music literacy.
“ Kindermusik is not just a music class – it is a research-based early childhood development programme that is recognised internationally,” Corene explains.“ Every activity in a lesson is intentional and designed to support brain development.” And importantly, parents aren’ t just watching from the sidelines.“ They participate, learn alongside their children, and gain tools they can use at home to continue the learning experience.”
That sense of shared experience is woven into every session.“ Parents participate throughout the class by singing, moving, playing instruments and interacting with their children, all of which strengthen bonding and help children feel secure while exploring new skills,” says Corene.
