A marriage deepened by parenthood
Their relationship began the way many modern ones do: Chad slid into Savanah’ s DMs on Instagram. Some time later, they bumped into each other at a club. The attraction was immediate, and the rest, as they say, is history. The couple married in April 2024, and just over a year later, life transformed dramatically as they became parents to twins, alongside Chad’ s daughter, Summer.
For Savanah, this chapter has revealed a new dimension of partnership.“ You learn so much more about your partner during this time,” she explains.“ Especially in those early newborn stages when you’ re stretched, sleep-deprived and adjusting … A different kind of closeness develops.”

She describes motherhood and marriage as a transformative exercise in rediscovering one another.“ You start to see each other in a new light, with new respect, and you create a new definition of the term‘ teamwork’.”
Communication, the couple says, has become more intentional than ever.
“ Tone is so important, especially when you’ re both exhausted,” the two explain to us.“ And we’ ve learnt to communicate our needs clearly, because the other person can’ t always read your mind,” says Savanah.
One of the ways they intentionally reconnect is through simple routines that keep them grounded.
“ We go for walks four or five times a week with the girls,” says Chad.“ The babies nap while we get to chat and catch up. That time has become pivotal for us, our relationship and our mental wellness.”
They have also carved out moments for coffee dates, dinners and occasional trips to the cinema – small, but meaningful reminders that nurturing their marriage matters too.
Creating a home filled with love
Having already gone through much of this with his daughter Summer, Chad admits that this time around he is much calmer.
“ There’ s a sense of peace, even during the toughest parts,” he says.“ Experience has allowed me to really enjoy these moments, because I know how quickly time goes by.”
Summer, meanwhile, has wholeheartedly embraced her role as big sister.
“ She’ s been amazing,” Chad says proudly.“ With a 15-year age gap, she’ s old enough to really help us, and she’ s been so handson with the girls – helping with nappy
changes, feeds and bath time, all with a huge smile on her face.”
The couple is also deeply intentional about the environment they are creating for their daughters. At the same time, they are also careful not to treat the twins as identical extensions of one another.
“ It’ s easy to assume everything should be mirrored and duplicated,” they explain.“ But we’ ve intentionally allowed room for individuality. We dress them differently, respond to them as individuals, and acknowledge their different temperaments and personalities.”
