Protecting our peace is a non-negotiable.

“ It’ s busy, layered, and not always balanced, but it’ s ours, and I wouldn’ t trade it for anything.”
Of course, when you also have a social media audience to show up for, you have to find balance.
“ Balancing home life and an online presence isn’ t always easy. Some days my family gets more of me; other days, work does. But I focus on being intentional – fully present at home, and fully focused when I’ m working. It’ s not perfect, but it’ s aligned.”

Protecting our peace is a non-negotiable.

Being online – all the time
When a baby comes into the picture, you start thinking differently – not just about yourself, but about who you are sharing with and what you choose to share. Aneeqah says her secret is boundaries.
“ I don’ t share everything in real time, and I protect our mornings and evenings – that’ s family time,” she explains.“ I’ m selective with opportunities, and if it disrupts our peace, it’ s a no. I also block and ignore negativity. I don’ t allow outside noise into our home. Protecting our peace is a non-negotiable.”
As with so many aspects of her life, her relationship with social media has evolved too.“ Since having my baby, my relationship with social media has become more intentional,” she says.“ I no longer feel the need to share everything – some moments are just for us.”
Instead, she focuses on quality over quantity, posting with purpose rather than pressure.“ It’ s less about chasing likes and more about creating content that feels authentic and meaningful. Social media is still part of my life, but my family always comes first.”
Little suitcases, big memories
As someone who has always embraced travel, Aneeqah admits that travelling with a baby isn’ t quite the same.“ It has taught me patience, flexibility, and the beauty of slowing down,” she laughs.“ Plans change, naps get missed, and schedules are unpredictable, but those moments become part of the adventure.”
She’ s learnt to embrace the imperfect, cherish little milestones on the road, and focus on experiences over perfection.“ Travel now isn’ t just about seeing places – it’ s about making memories together as a family.”
Their first trip with their son was to Bloemfontein to visit his granny, and it was a breeze. The only hiccup?“ I massively overpacked. But seeing him with his granny and enjoying the time together made every extra bag totally worth it.”
Since then, they’ ve enjoyed holidays in Gordon’ s Bay, Mossel Bay, George and a trip to the friendly city, Gqeberha – and that’ s just the start.
Her advice to parents who are nervous about travelling with an infant?“ Keep it simple and go with the flow. Pack the essentials, embrace the chaos, and focus on making memories – it’ s about the journey, not perfection.”
Right now, Aneeqah’ s life can be summed up in three words: blessed, busy, intentional.“ Every day is full of love, growth, and purpose – even in the chaos.”
And her inspiring journey is just getting started.“ Looking ahead, I want to grow as a woman with confidence, as a mother with presence, and as an entrepreneur with purpose – balancing all parts of me. And I’ m ready for what’ s next.”
