Additionally, I felt that my chosen presentation methods (PowerPoint and Joomag) were suitable for my
work and enabled me to be as creative as I needed. I’ve had a lot of experience with both tools and so
I was able to carry out and save my work without any issues.
Lastly, I took on feedback from last term to look at a variety of different printed and digital
publications for layout and photography inspiration- this aided my creativity when pulling together
certain pages (e.g my trend stories, look book and ‘Girl Talk’ pages) and I was able to pick out and
change certain elements which I had come across.
What did not go well was the amount of research that I carried out for my PathBrite folder; I had lists
of what I needed to research along with social media pages, websites and magazines that would have
supported the research however I struggled to actually collate all the information into a document due
to the lack of free time I had to complete my project. Although I still tried my best to upload as much
research as possible, I’m still aware that there could have been so much more, but I just couldn’t
find the time to carry it out.
During this project, there were points where I felt very behind. I’m quite a slow-pace worker and,
because I did not have a lot of time to complete work outside of my college days, this had a negative
impact on the amount I was completing. There were multiple points throughout the project where I was
experiencing manic anxiety and stress which lead me to become de-motivated and discouraged. To avoid
this in the future, I need to make sure I’m balancing my other commitments fairly with my college
work. I also need to try different mental exercises to help me keep a positive attitude and keep my
self-motivation consistent.
As for my actual work content, I felt that my offline marketing strategy (compared to my online one)
wasn’t extensive enough. This may be because our online presence is a little more significant and
it’s where most of our target audience will be discovering us, however I still should have looked more
into ways of reaching my target customer through other offline techniques- next time I will carry out
more initial research into how to do so.
