Meet A.E.H. Veenman
SC: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Well, I’m boring…but okay. I’m a wife, mom, and retired
legal advisor in the digital entertainment industry. I actually
have a background in Classical music as a singer. When I’m
not reading or writing, I’m composing and recording for my
alternative music band, 3RD Season.
SC: Was there a certain time in your life you knew you
wanted to write?
Most definitely! I owe that lifechanging decision to my
seventh grade teacher, Mrs. Lawing. I was obsessed with
mystery books. For an assignment, I wrote an original Nancy
Drew mystery involving diamond theft. I remember being so
proud to have gotten an A on the short story. But the day I
decided to be an author came many years later. I was in
high school when I returned to my old elementary school for
a visit. Not only had Mrs. Lawing remembered me, but she’d
asked if I was still writing. She expressed looking forward to
seeing me published someday. Never underestimate the
power teachers have to invoke positive change in our youth!
