Leadership needed on the development at Warnervale

It ’ s high time State and Local Government showed some leadership on the development of Warnervale .
Planning and developing new areas is never straight forward or as simple as we want it to be . Coordinating private and public investment and ensuring adequate infrastructure is available is always a challenge . Regardless of the challenges , it is the role of Governments to lead the way and push for what the community needs .
In the case of the greater Warnervale area , the first thing the Government can do is to build North Warnervale train station . This is an essential piece of infrastructure that will take pressure off existing train stations and allow for the pressures that will come with future growth to be overcome .

The Link road between Watanobbi and Warnervale must also be prioritised . This will speed up travel times for locals and signal to private investors that the Government takes the area seriously and is ready for them to invest in the area .

Woolworths has thus far given no timeline for when they intend to start work on the shopping centre . Perhaps it ’ s time council considered other options and re-zoned land for a willing developer .
The solution here isn ’ t simple and will probably require multiple actions from all levels of Government . But first and foremost they must have the will , they have thus far demonstrated none .
