In-hospital treatment Authorised admission for Prescribed Minimum Benefits ( PMBs ) treatment is the only dental treatment covered in-hospital on the BonCap option .
Not covered on the BonCap option ? The following dental treatments are NOT available on the BonCap option :
• Although the surgical removal of a tooth is covered where clinically necessary , the removal of impacted teeth is excluded . An impacted tooth is a tooth that , for some reason , has been blocked from breaking through the gum , e . g ., impacted wisdom tooth
• Dentures i . e . plastic dentures and partial chrome cobalt frame dentures and associated costs are not covered
• Extraoral X-rays i . e . panoramic X-rays are not covered
• Specialised Dentistry is not covered i . e . orthodontics , crown & bridge , periodontal treatment , or implants
• In-hospital dental treatment , other than PMBs treatment
