AYOBA MUSIC MAG March 2013 | Page 42

The challenge for new dj’s is that the market is already congested /full and it makes it difficult for one to break into the market. The major problem is also a cost factor versus the experience because new guys are forced to charge less or even play for nothing because they want recognition and they end up being used by promoters.

6. How important do you think it is to have your music mastered commercially? Can you do it yourself as effectively and what tools would you recommend?

Mastering is very important because it can make or break a record. A poorly mastered track doesn’t sound nice and when people picks that up they loose interest. There are various tools in the market for mastering depending on one’s choice like I use Nuendo or Cubase to a fruity loops produced track.

7. What do you believe is the secret to your success as a Deejay/producer?

Passion and dedication to whatever you do leads to success.

Any advice for the aspiring Deejays/producers out there?

It is very important to be unique in whatever you do also be relevant to the target market and also maintain your current fan base.
