AYOBA MUSIC MAG February 2013 | Seite 48

8. Do you have an ethos or a mantra?

I guess its the same as it always was – release the stuff that I personally like, and hope enough people like it too! Work hard stay true to the vision and follow your heart. Also Appreciate what you already have and be thankful. Lastly never stop learning,

9. Any advice for someone wanting to start up their own record label?

Make sure you do all your sums, and really try to pin down exactly how many you expect to sell and make sure it makes sense to do; just because you and your mates like an artist, that’s not going to mean you magically can sell 500 or 1000 of it, and make sure the band is actually not going to sit back and let you do all the hard work – nowadays its more important than ever that the band is actively working with you and you are realistic about how many you can sell. Above all its the hard work and believe in your artists and your company. Networking is key too, I would say build up a strong team around you, and once again never give up!

10. What projects are you currently working on ?

We have just released the single Rocksun, by SOL Element & Dimi Stuff. The package includes mixes from Phaze Dee, Elias Tzikas, Demarkus Lewis, Dimkal, and Prosis. We have had a great response to a quality package. Its getting great feedback and support from Pacha Recordings and Yoruba Records: Kiko Navarro, Louis Benedetti, Brazilian Soul Crew and Joey Silvero from Distant People. We will be releasing The Inner-Deep Kollektiv E.P on the 11th December, South African producer Tebza Inner-Deep returns with a great E.P. after doing such good work on Thabzen Bibo feat Nathan X ‘Loving You’ released earlier on this year on the label.
