Aycliffe Business Park introduces firms to Health and Wellbeing
The County Durham Better Health at Work Award team ( BHAWA ) team delivered a Health and Wellbeing Seminar to businesses based on Aycliffe Business Park .
The seminar formed part of a series of events increase awareness of Mental Health in the workplace .
Aycliffe Business Park Community ( ABPC ) are keen to support businesses on the park reap the benefits of having a healthy and happy workforce .
The seminar as part of an interactive session was delivered to raise awareness of mental health and provide the opportunity for attendees to meet relevant stakeholders .
One business which has benefited from joining the BHAWA is Hitachi Rail , and attendees heard from Louise Williams about the positive impact the award has had on their employees and their business .
She said : “ The award has helped us to structure the wellbeing strategy , given us the support we need to deliver campaigns and the team have given us some good ideas of what we can do as a business to help support and engage our employees .”

During the same week the BHAWA team were also busy hosting a ‘ Stamp Out Stigma ’ event for businesses to highlight the benefits of raising awareness of Mental Health and how reducing stigma can create a positive culture .
To top off a successful week of events the County Durham BHWA team went on to celebrate a double win at the Royal Society for Public Health ( RSPH ) Awards , winning the Workplace Health and Wellbeing Award 2017 and receiving one of only two National Public Health England ( PHE ) Commendations for their efforts to Reduce Inequalities at a
