How has winning the Emerging
Architect Prize changed your life?
from just about everyone who’s dear to me. How do you interpret the
conference theme,
‘Praxis: Process. Propositions.
Production.’?
Birthday’s lose their novelty as you get older, Praxis, Process, Propositions,
Actually, it was a moment where I heard
but getting all that attention felt like I was
turning six again. I guess that’s why they
call it emerging. It feels like you’re becoming
something. But what? Time will tell.
Production…. it makes me wonder
what’s been left out. These are
interesting words, but there are so
many more that don’t begin with the
letter P. Like axiomatic.
What is a project you have worked on that you are most proud of?
Really, I’m most proud of the practice we’ve built over the past five years. We’re lucky
to be surrounded by some truly excellent human beings. As idyllic as it sounds, we have
great clients, talented staff and builders we really enjoy working with. Even the town
planners we deal with are sometimes reasonable (suspend that disbelief).
