workshops
In the fourth quarter of 2019, AWCCI in Kabul,
Kandahar and Balkh held “More Afghan Women in
Business” workshops for female students of universi-
ties in each province. More Afghan Women in Busi-
ness workshop in Kabul was at Mora University, in
Balkh it was at Mawlana University and in Kandahar
it was at Mallalai University and totallay 195 female
students were trained through these workshops. The
main objectives of these sessions in universities are as
following:
To make female young generation
aware of the new improvements in the
business sector of Afghanistan
To encourage female young gener-
ation, see entrepreneurship as an
option and not working for others
To ensure them of existence of a
network of women as a support
system for them
To help them hear firsthand
experience of businesswomen
During the workshop, the existing opportunities for
entrepreneurs and businesswomen were highlighted
for students a representative of AWCCI such as hav-
ing the honorary membership of AWCCI, becoming
a member of national and international business net-
work and getting the trainings for their business de-
velopment.
In the other part of the program one of the board
members delivered the presentation of Entrepreneur-
ship and Business to the attendees. The presentation
contained discussions such as impacts of entrepre-
neurship on life, differences between an Entrepreneur
and an Employee, characteristics of an entrepreneur,
characteristics of a successful entrepreneur, and writ-
ing business plan. At the end, there was a chance for
students to test their ideas about entrepreneurship af-
ter the presentation. It was an interactive session.
AWCCI arranged a panel discussion of three success-
ful businesswomen on their business journey. Busi-
nesswomen mainly talked about the first endeavors,
challenges they have overcome and their success se-
crets. Students not only had the chance of question
and answer but also they shared their business ideas.
Besides, a small exhibition of the Afghan business-
women from different sectors such as clothing, jewel-
ry, saffron, dry fruit, and food product were prepared
for students for the Buy from Afghan Women Busi-
nesses campaign.
