GARRICK HOUSE

We are now at the halfway point of the academic year and entering a point that can be particularly stressful as controlled assessment deadlines loom and revision becomes more intense . It is at this time that students must remain calm and organised , maintaining focus and ensuring that they are consistently doing the very best that they can .
A number of Year 11 students within Garrick House have been consistently attending revision before and after school , with 4 students , Maja Kobylak , Jack Gibson , Luke Owens and Travis Taylor deserving of particular praise as they have now attended over 50 sessions . Unfortunately there are a number of students that have not consistently attended , and Garrick House have had significantly less representation than any of the other houses . As we approach the summer examinations I hope that there is a change and that students begin to recognise the importance of these revision opportunities .
Year 8 students are currently considering their option choices and a great deal is being done behind the scenes to guarantee that every student has the chance to spend key stage 4 working on subjects that will deliver the best chances for continued long term success . My advice would be to choose subjects that you think that you will enjoy as it is easier to succeed in an area for which you already have a passion .

Mid way points are always a wonderful opportunity for reflection and it is fantastic to look back at some of the great things that we have achieved as a house thus far . The house points chart remains incredibly close and every house is still in with a chance of winning the house competitions challenge .
Keep up the good work , Garrick ! Mr Owen
