Not all Tomcats ended their days in the desert at AMARG (below). Many were put through the Stricken Aircraft Reclamation and Disposal Program. When they reached this point in the SARDIP process, the airframe was towed across to the “mini boneyard” and cut up for scrap. The Titanium metal wing box was recycled. This hulk was once F-14A 161142 (above).
