Outstanding Iniochos
‘ Iniochos’( roughly translated as Chariot, with the emblems heavy with Greek mythology is designed to simulate realistic, high-end air operations. Participants operate across Offensive Counter-Air,
Defensive Counter-Air, strike, Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, Intelligence-led tasking and Integrated Command-and-Control( C2). Missions are flown in increasingly complex packages as the exercise progresses, forcing crews to adapt quickly, work across national boundaries and operate within a contested environment. The geography of the Peloponnese region of Greece plays a central role. Western Greece offers coastline, mountains and narrow valleys that demand precision flying at low level, particularly when weather, terrain masking and time pressure are in the mix. This realism keeps‘ Iniochos’ in the forefront of the minds of military planners, especially as multinational operations become the norm rather than the exception, and particularly as it offers very different nations to operate with each other.
