2.5 Liberty Square

Behind the Opera building you will find the Liberty Square, one of the most popular squares of the capital city. Since the beginning the Karabakh movement in 1988, it has become a centre of popular protests and social movements. It is the happening place for political opposition demonstrations and rallies, and for that, it is considered to be

one of the symbols of democracy in Armenia. The Liberty Square

is linked with the Republic Square through the Northern Avenue which is about 450 meters long street with luxurious residential buildings, elite brand shops, business centres, cafés, restaurants and night clubs.
