AV News 200 - May 2015 T h e In te rv a l Anonymous Overheard between sequences at a recent AV Competition "That wasn't very good.... No, It's alright, nobody can hear me..... I AM whispering. Wonder what the judges think.... No, I went at coffee break... Well I do... but it's the tablets. I was overhearing; you know; thingy; at the break.... No I wasn't stalking him..... I was just more comfortable............ behind there. He was saying about that Horace bloke.... which one? .. .. well you know grey hair and glasses..... always got a microphone or a camera in his hands ......... sometimes both....... Baggery that's it!...…no I didn't say that!.... He's got a nice wife though......... no I'm not saying anything about you... He was saying he was making a new one about some dead bloke. They only ever make them about dead people .........hope they don't make one about me. Do you remember that one about the dead Rolling Stone...took a long time to make...he wasn't dead when he started. What's next? I hope it's not another one of those morbid things...... might as well go and slit my throat now......... no need to be sarcastic! That one about the London streets was dark..... think they called it ....A to Z..........If they want dark they could do one about Brum. I've dropped my pen........around here somewhere.....ouch! ..... sorry I was only looking for my...... oh never mind...I can't see a thing in here anyway. The judges are taking their time ......Same old crowd....that one on the left fell asleep just now! Is it that Richard bloke again?......... I heard they dug him up from a car park in Leicester........well I know it's not HIM............Might be rela ted though........ That was a good one ... I think he made it in an old factory where they used to make stuff...can't remember what.... it might have been marmalade... Yes.. I think it was called the power of marmalade. They never appreciate my stuff .... Well okay it is a while since I entered anything...can't think of any dead people! Sometimes they don't get it quite right... I really liked that one about Bob Dylan...pity they didn't use any of his songs in it though. I liked that one about the Mountains... think it was called sock song...… it made me cry at the end when they wrung out the socks ..... all wet and cold. I think they're ready for the next one now... Pity the technical team can't get their act together........ well we're all waiting! I've seen her press that button six times already ... she could try something else.... shall I go and tell her? OUCH THAT HURT! .... I think she's got it now....about time. Okay here we go...what time's lunch? Page 30
